Deciding to talk to a therapist isn't a sign of weakness! Starting therapy can be scary; it can be terrifying to go into past traumas and to uncover the layers of unhealthy coping methods you’ve built to keep yourself alive. To face your fears and seek change is a huge personal decision. I have seen incredible healing over the years, and am privileged to have been allowed into people's pain and to walk along side them on their journey to healing. I welcome the opportunity to walk with you, and help you identify and overcome your obstacles so that you can live the more fulfilling life that you deserve.
You will develop healthy techniques that will utilize your strengths and help you learn to be more fully alive and present while managing life's challenges and the uncomfortable emotions that sometimes accompany change.
We will work together to establish a comfortable place for you to face your fears and resolve them. I use a variety of techniques along with ongoing dialogue and resource development to help you achieve your desired results.
Research consistently shows that a positive and nurturing client-therapist relationship is one of the most important factors to therapeutic success. My professional goal is to develop the highest quality relationship with each client while integrating a variety of evidence-based techniques that are catered to each client's specific needs.

Is your teen overcome with worries or fears, often feeling sad or withdrawing from people or activities previously enjoyed, engaging in self-harm, not listening to you, or having frequent mood swings? As a parent, are you worried or concerned that your child's behavioral or emotional problems may get worse, feeling incompetent or confused, discouraged after receiving unsatisfactory reports about your adolescent from teachers or other care-givers, feeling that you are being controlled by your teen or overwhelmed with your teen's behaviors or emotions?
As your teen matures, they will encounter stressful events that may lead to emotional or behavioral difficulties. As a parent, you want to do what is best for your child, but you may not know what to do or you may be using ineffective skills without knowing it.
My office provides a comfortable environment that allows clients to feel comfortable; with an atmosphere where they can safely process their emotions and to help them facilitate growth while strengthening communication skills.

Utah can often feel like a lonely place if you are part of the LBGBTQ+ community. I will provide a safe place to land during your journey in an accepting and non-judgmental setting. I can help you navigate the unique challenges/barriers you may be facing and will proudly advocate for you and support your emotional well-being.
I work with a wide range of ages and stages of transition. If you're transgender yourself, or if you're a parent of a teen or child who is exploring gender, I can be a support and advocate.
Not everyone who is gender nonconforming is transgender, not everyone wants to 'transition,' and not everyone wants medical intervention. No matter what you eventually decide for yourself, I will be there with support, and resources.
WPATH guidelines (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) maintain that gender non-conformity is NOT a "mental illness" but a natural variation in human gender presentation, & that any attempts to "fix" gender-variant children by conforming them to traditional gender norms is harmful & unethical treatment.
We have many relationships that may become challenging or toxic (e.g. marital, dating, peers, co-workers, extended family, etc.). If you are stuggling with any of these relationships, we can help. Through therapy, you can work on ways to improve those relationships, or end them if they are unsafe or unhealthy. We can also help with high-conflict divorces, and co-parenting issues.
Self-harm is defined as "any self-inflicted action that intentionally induces pain and/or breaks the skin." Self-harm is a unhealthy coping skill that has developed to reduce emotional pain and keeps you alive. We can work together to replace those unhealthy coping skills with healthy ones that work for you!

Do you or your teen suffer from suicide ideation and/or engage in self-harm and don't know what to do? I can help! I have extensive experience helping individuals challenge their distorted thinking patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and work through challenges that bring about feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
Utah’s Invisible Conditions Alert Program, created by the Utah Legislature during the 2023 Legislative Session, is a voluntary program that allows a person with a qualifying physical or mental condition to have a decal placed on a driver's license or ID card.
Utah's Invisible Condition Alert Program is designed to promptly notify first responders about a person's invisible condition that may directly impact the person's ability to communicate. Early identification of an invisible condition during interactions allows first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, or emergency medical personnel to approach situations with heightened awareness and respond appropriately.
Qualifying Invisible Conditions
Utah Code 53-3-207: Invisible conditions include: a communication impediment; hearing loss; blindness or visual impairment; autism spectrum disorder; drug allergy; Alzheimer’s disease or dementia; post-traumatic stress disorder; traumatic brain injury; schizophrenia; epilepsy; a developmental disability; Down syndrome; diabetes; a heart condition; or any other condition approved by the department.
How We Can Help
If you choose to participate in this voluntary program and your therapist diagnoses you with a qualifying invisible condition, your therapist will assist you in completing the invisible condition request form and submiting it to the Driver’s License Division by mail, fax, email, or nearest office location.
